A complete Shopify redevelopment that started underneath the interface: deciding what is a product and what is a variant, modelling product families and siblings, and structuring metafields so the new storefront had richer data to work with.

Where theme development stops being enough.

I started working independently with Shopify and spent several years delivering ecommerce projects internationally. That exposed me to many different Shopify environments, industries and technical problems.

The work progressed from storefront development into deeper Shopify engineering: applications, integrations, performance, headless commerce, architecture and operational systems.

Today I work across both implementation and technical leadership. The Shopify work I enjoy most tends to begin where normal theme development stops being enough.
