Context

SilkMe needed more than a visual refresh. I redeveloped the storefront from scratch while also rethinking how products, variants and supporting content were structured inside Shopify.

Rebuilding the product model

The first challenge was deciding what should exist as a product and what should remain a variant.

  • Sizes remain variants.
  • Colours and designs can exist as separate products, connected through sibling-product relationships.
  • Product families group related products into a clearer merchandising structure.
  • Supporting contentHow to Use, Care Instructions, FAQs and Specifications — is stored as structured metafield data rather than being buried in theme content.

This gave the rebuilt storefront a cleaner and more flexible data foundation to work with.

Outcome

The result was a complete Shopify redevelopment supported by a more structured product architecture — making product relationships, merchandising and storefront content easier to manage and extend.
